"Ars Longa Vita Brevis"

“Good artists copy, Great artists steal” and I am totally lost

What do you think about this sentence dudes? Doesn’nt it seem very similar to you? (you artists, designers, etc ?! ) stealing, copying or looking for something very unknown, personal and especially “unique”. Ok you reached that point ( you have been very unique and I never mentionned it but of course you’re very talented artist) but finally who will appreciate it and where will you gain this fuckin money you need from? Maybe in your country it is something usual to make money as a talented artist but not in mine.. Especially in the lands I am living in it is a quite big challenge. As a little mysterious little daemon (!) and  I will never mention who I am I can say that visual art& design is appreciated in a very few kind of culture which are usually evoluated in Europe. And why? because the whole art history I have learned is written by europeans? Or because really Art has been a cultural&political challenge for Europe once upon a time? This is a bit deep subject and I will return to it soon but if we must focus to our main topic which is  ”good artists copy great artists steal  ” I remember one basic knowledge; artists generally stealed from nature…

And imagine now please… What is our living habitats? İn front of our monitors we are looking at our miserable facebook accounts our our blogs? In the appartment floors that we see the lovely starbucks from? What is that fuckin nature we can really inspired from? Maybe the city itself is a irritating source for the creatives? And let’s think about the graffitti artists like Banksy or BluBlu.. What do I mean in this whole bullshit writing? I mean that as a person who is living in this capitalist world I have known mostly the european and american culture in the goods I consumed; the foods, the toys, the movies, the computer games, the music, the philosophy, etc (almost everything) But I am actually from another different culture that is not considered at all in the things I consumed? Can you now feel this fuckin confusion I live? I am now inclined to copy from all the cg artist or comic artists that are sold to me as the icons, I must make a movie as brilliant as xx cinematographer. I must be as brilliant and talented as them!

Finally I started to think that this is very bizarre game which rules are determined in time by some cultural&economic autorothies.

And now I come to the main question.. Do you want to be a part of this or want to create something very unique and unchained from all the things that are imposed to you? And how can we be this very unique creature in this fuckin world directed by a few cultural codes?

While you think about this dudes stay tuned for the next episode which is the universal “Beauty” and “Ugliness”.

Why does Andy Warhol remind me unconsciously David Bowie? I finally found the answer :)

Yes this is it. It has been long time I haven’t listened to this song but the unavoidable association has driven me to make a google search with “andy warhol” & “david bowie” queries.

And I finally found this amazing old video shooted in the Factory.

Hey guys! Are you brothers or what da hell?

What is a Daemon?

The meaning of the mesmerizing daemon figure has allways changed in time;

For some it has been the evil itself, for the others it was the eternal source of the genius.

According to Socrates it is his lifetime friend who sits on the left shoulder and whispers into his ear what to say and what to do. And he described his lovely daemon as his “conscience”. (For more information about Socrates Daemon >http://www.allacademic.com/meta/p_mla_apa_research_citation/2/7/6/3/3/p276331_index.html)

If we turn our eyes to the whole history of art & philosophy and we pay a bit attention to see where they are, we can find all the hidden daemons into the timeless masterpieces of human kind.

And the purpose of this little blog of mine is to catch these little mighty creatures between every kind of brilliant artworks.
